Development of the IBR-2 Spectrometer Complex
and Information-Computation Infrastructure

Scientific Programme:
Upgrading of the existing IBR-2 spectrometers and creation of new spectrometers.
Design and construction of new detectors, neutron optical systems, and mechanical systems of the spectrometers.
Development of the electronic equipment and program packets for data acquisition systems, extension of the local area network (LAN), realization of the MCC project.

Expected main results in 2002:

Installation and putting into operation of the information flow router in the FLNP local computing network.
Optimization of the characteristics and increasing of the reliability of the VME data acquisition systems in the IBR-2 spectrometers.
Development, manufacturing, construction and employment of unified detector and data acquisition electronics for PSD with delay line readouts.
Development of the software for the VME-PCI interface.
Development of a unified software for the FSD spectrometer.
Development of the software for analysis of neutron scattering data.
Manufacturing of 4 elements of the ASTRA 90 ^o-detector for the FSD spectrometer.
Development of the sample environment systems in the YuMO and SPN spectrometers.
Creation and testing of the polarized neutrons analyzer for the SPN spectrometer.
Routine operation and modernization of the measuring and control systems of the IBR-2 spectrometers.
Participation in the development of the ESS progect.
