Organization, Maintenance, and Development
of the University-Type Educational Process at JINR

Scientific Programme:
Establishment and development of JINR's Educational Programme, which is to meet modern, internationally accepted requirements to the training of young specialists in physics and related engineering. Organization of the programme of raising the professional skills of the Institute's engineering and technical staff and their retraining with the purpose of implementing modern job arrangement and using the most advanced computer technologies at working places. Creation and application of modern educational techniques and support programmes for the education process. Support of the postgraduate studies.

Expected main results in 2003:

Provision and organization of the educational process at JINR's University Centre (UC). Systematic publication of manuals on the courses given at the UC. Publication of the lecture cycles given to the UC students and postgraduates.
Maintenance of the UC's Web server. Periodic update of the server contents reflecting the lectures given at the UC as well as schools and courses conducted on the basis of the UC.
Organization and conduction of international schools for students and postgraduates. Development of the cooperation with international Funds (DAAD, EMSPS, and EuPEN) aimed at organizing student and postgraduate exchanges between the UC and foreign research centres regulated by special agreements.
Development of the system of the specialized training of highly skilled specialists for the JINR Member States. Organization of the bilateral supervision of postgraduates by scientists of JINR and JINR Member States.
Establishment at the UC and development of specialized practicums for students and secondary school students. Organization of a lecture course in physics for secondary school students.
