Scientific Programme:
Modernization of the IBR-2 reactor to enhance efficiency of experimental investigations in the fields of nuclear physics and condensed matter and to improve basic characteristics, service reliability and safety of the reactor.

Expected main results in 2010:

Complex tests of the reactor systems after installation and adjustment of the new equipment, organizational and technical preparation for physical start-up.
Carrying out of physical start-up of the reactor with water moderators.
Preparation for first power of the reactor. The beginning of works on first power.
Tests of the cryogenic moderator for beams 7-11 at the stand.
Testing of temperature modes and transportation modes of mesitylene balls at the experimental stand.
Adjustment of new refrigerator KGU 700.
