Scientific Programme:

Preparation by the JINR Scientific Organizing Department (SOD) of analytical materials on the perspectives of scientific research. Assistance to the JINR Directorate in the preparation and implementation of the Institute's reform programme in the scientific domain; analysis of the results of reforms.
Methodological work contributing to the transition toward project-topical and special-purpose financing of research programmes, projects and facilities. Preparation of annual Topical Plans for JINR Research and International Cooperation and of the Scientific Programme of JINR based on a rolling three-year plan of activities. Application of data base systems for the analysis of results of theoretical and experimental research activities.

Expected main results in 2001:

Analysis of results of the main directions of JINR's activity. Recommendations concerning coordination of the research programmes approved for 2001 and for 2001-2003. Preparation of the Topical Plan for JINR Research and International Cooperation for the year 2002 and of the JINR Scientific Programme for the years 2002-2004.
Development of a data base information search system for JINR research themes, projects, and protocols on scientific and technical collaboration. Activities by SOD in the fields of attestation and qualification improvement of scientific personnel, including contestants for PhD and DSc degrees.
