At Dubna State University

Medical and pharmaceutical chemistry

This is the name of the master's programme for the training of new-level specialists, developers of medicaments and medical devices with knowledge in the field of chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical technologies, allied sciences for the production of medicines and medical devices for essential healthcare needs. Graduates will be able to work in scientific and educational institutions, in medical and pharmaceutical industries. Such specialists are expected at the enterprises of the medical cluster of SEZ "Dubna". For preparation, a high-tech laboratory for the development of medicines and pharmaceutical technologies will be used that allows to carry out research and development work at a high level. This laboratory has been developed on the basis of the scientific and educational center "Physchimbiopharm" of the Dubna University.

Artificial intelligence programmes

The "Applied Informatics" area of the Institute of SAM will be supplemented with "Artificial Intelligence in the Control System" and "Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Economy" programmes. During the year, the staff of the SAM department headed by E. N. Cheremisina has extensively worked on the transformation of educational programmes. Today, in the course of training, the department will train specialists capable of developing and researching advanced machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence systems. And graduates will be able to apply for the positions of engineers and research engineers in these areas in large technology companies.

The peculiarity of the programmes is that not only graduates of the bachelor's degree or specialists in the field of information technology and programming, but also bachelor graduates in such areas as sociology, management, economics, etc. will be able to enter the master's programme. Programmes will help to master new knowledge and skills that will become a relevant and highly demanded supplement to the competencies that graduates of these areas have already mastered. The programmes have been formed in cooperation with the Volgograd State Technical University under the objectives of the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence.

Youth projects

Students of ISAM have presented their promising papers at the Bureau of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Dubna University.

Artem Dorokhin, a 1st year student of the "Software Engineering" area, has presented the project "Hardware and software complex for development of immersive simulators based on two-wheeled vehicles". The project is aimed at constructing a simulator that allows one to develop the skill of cycling in a virtual environment. Such a solution can be used in sports complexes, specialised institutions, on physical education lessons.

The youth team including students of the bachelor's degree programme "Computer Sciences and Computer Engineering" and the master's programme "System Analysis and Management", aims to develop a software and hardware complex consisting of a stationary exercise bike and an application using VR technology.

Viktor Rogov, Master in the "System Analysis and Management" area, presented the project "Centralized Access Control System Based on Face Recognition Technology (ACS)". A team of students in the "Applied Informatics and Software Engineering" area intends to develop a unit of software modules for face recognition, as well as to analyse the quality of recognition depending on the external shooting conditions, speed of passage, quality and angle of the camera and the type of original shots.

Young researchers will have to try their hand at subject engineering, demonstrate their organised nature and create forward-looking solutions foreseen in the presented projects.

Physics. Mathematics. Computer Sciences

Dubna State University and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research announce the start of competitive selection for the VI Summer School "Physics. Mathematics. Computer Sciences" that will be held in Dubna from 29 June to 9 July. Two areas: physics + mathematics and computer sciences + mathematics are available for participants (9th-10th grade students). Competitive selection is the solution of tasks in the relevant disciplines, the timely delivery of resolved tasks carefully drawn up.
