Physics. Mathematics. Informatics
On 16 - 26 July, VII Summer School "Physics. Mathematics. Informatics" was held in the Dubna State University, co-organised by the University and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
To participate in the School, 60 high school students came from 26 cities of Russia: Moscow and Moscow region, Togliatti, St. Petersburg, Syktyvkar, Vologda, Volgograd, Voronezh, Krasnodar, Penza, Izhevsk and other cities. During the ten days of the event, the participants got acquainted with the university teachers, scientists, engineers, IT-specialists, visited JINR laboratories, the NICA collider, learnt about the projects on which trainee students and graduates of the university work. Schoolchildren worked on scientific projects under the supervision of theoretical physicists, nuclear physicists, electronic engineers, biophysicists, geophysicists, web developers, analysts, specialists in information protection and mathematical simulation.
The training day consisted of classes on the analysis of non-standard problems, workshops, master-classes, popular science lectures by the staff members of JINR and Promteh Corporation, group work on experimental problems. The evening was dedicated to communication, a rich creative and sporting life.
