Bella T.Bibkova
17.08.1937 - 20.09.2024

The Dubna culture has suffered an irreparable loss. On 20 September, at the age of 88, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Bella T. (Bagiya Timirbaevna) Bikbova passed away.

For 25 years, from 1978 to 2003, she headed the JINR Cultural Centre "Mir".

Bella Bibkova was born on 17 August, 1937 in the village of Bikmetovo, Buraevsky District, Bashkir ASSR. In 1959, she graduated from the Birsk State Pedagogical Institute, specializing in teaching Russian and German. She began her career as a Russian language teacher at school. In 1960, she was elected secretary of the Birsk District Committee of the Komsomol and in 1961, she moved to Dubna and until 1976, she worked at school No.5 as a teacher and head teacher. In 1974, she was elected as Chairman of the City Committee of the trade union of education workers. Since 1976, she worked at the Cultural Centre "Mir" as Deputy Director, later - as Director.

B.T.Bikbova made a great contribution to the development of cultural traditions, to the improvement of various forms of organizing creative leisure for the citizens of Dubna, her role in preserving the Cultural Centre "Mir" as a leisure centre in the university part of the city is invaluable. It was under her authority that the Cultural Centre reached the apogee of its creative development in the 1970-1980s. More than once, she became the winner of the All-Union competition of cultural institutions and survived with dignity in the difficult 1990s... And even after leaving the position of Director in 2003, Bella Bikbova worked for a long time as an organizer of events in the family reading library on Bolshaya Volga.

A whole era has passed away with Bella Bikbova: an era of selfless service to culture, intelligence and professionalism. The memory of B.T.Bikbova will forever remain in the hearts of colleagues, friends and relatives.
