At the Dubna State University

Personnel for mega-scientific projects

On 12 February, a "university roll call" was held, organized by the National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute".

The topic was the participation of universities in the implementation of a large-scale project - the Federal Scientific and Technological Programme for the Development of Synchrotron and Neutron Research.

For the third year now, Dubna University, together with JINR, has been participating in the implementation of this programme and at the new stage, it becomes the coordinator of personnel training in the area "Nuclear physics and technologies". It became relevant concerning the start of work on the establishment of scientific and experimental centres of the "megascience" class: the facilities SILA (a promising source of synchrotron radiation) in Protvino and the RIF synchrotron in Vladivostok.

Teaching foreign students

Dubna University and JINR have discussed joint actions to attract students from the JINR Member States to Dubna.

The conversation was held with Head of the JINR Department of International Cooperation Otilia-Ana Culicov. In addition to the current experience in implementing joint quadripartite educational programmes with universities in Kazakhstan, we have decided to use a new tool - the JINR Information Centres in JINR Member States that have proven themselves in disseminating information to student and teaching audiences not only in these countries, but also in the countries of the regions in which they are located.

During the conversation, the newly developed structures of the university were not ignored - the Centre for International Cooperation and the Preparatory Department for Foreigners, Head of which Natalya Shimon also took part in the meeting. The quotas allocated to the university for training foreign citizens are primarily intended to be used to attract talented students for studying in joint master's programmes with JINR along with the possibility of internships and with a view to further employment in the laboratories of the Institute.
