E.Yu.Mazepa turns 70

On 3 December, Evgeny Mazepa that has worked at LCTA JINR for 20 years and then became the organizer of the company "Kontakt" celebrates his jubilee.

E.Yu.Mazepa started working at JINR in 1976 after he had graduated from the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He became a member of a group of system programmers that were entrusted with the tasks of the software for EC series computers and the development of the terminal concentrator software. In 1981, he was awarded the JINR Prize for Applied Physics Research for the paper "The multiple-access system of the JINR Central Information and Computer Complex based on the BESM-6 Soviet electronic computer, CDC-6500 and the terminal concentrator", as a member of the group of authors. In 1985, E.Yu.Mazepa defended his Ph.D. thesis on "System tools for organizing data storage and transfer in the terminal network of a multi-machine complex". His further activities concerned the development of the JINR network infrastructure. In 1998, E.Yu.Mazepa was awarded the JINR Encouraging Prize for the paper "JINR local network" in a team of co-authors.

The company "Kontakt" that has been the basic supplier of internet services in Dubna for a long time, has been headed by Evgeny Mazepa for more than 25 years. Friends and relatives congratulate the celebrant and wish him family happiness and long life.
