At the jubilee of MEPhI in the Kremlin Palace

On 23 November, a solemn event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI) was held in the Kremlin Palace.

It was opened by honorary guests: Assistant to President of Russia A.A.Fursenko, Minister of Science and Higher Education V.N.Falkov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences G.Ya.Krasnikov, General Director of the state corporation Rosatom A.E.Likhachev and other officials. The JINR delegation took part in the celebration of the anniversary. The celebrants were congratulated by President of Russia V.V.Putin. The University was also congratulated by its staff members, students and graduates, the ISS space crew, the creative teams of MEPhI itself and invited guests.

On behalf of the Directorate of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, JINR Director G.V.Trubnikov cordially congratulated MEPhI Rector V.I.Shevchenko and the staff of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI on the significant anniversary. In his welcome letter, he noted the long-term enduring partnership and traditionally friendly relations that have developed between NRNU MEPhI and JINR where over 200 MEPhI graduates work today, whose scientific achievements are the pride of both the Joint Institute and their alma mater. Director of the Institute expressed hope for further joint work and giving a new impetus to the substantive and qualitative development of the current cooperation.
