A professor from Iran at the seminar

On 5 October, a FLNP seminar was held, at which Professor of the Faculty of Physics at the University of Isfahan (Iran) M.N.Nasrabadi spoke online.

The first part of his talk focused on the significance, principle and application of inertial electrostatic confinement fusion (IECF) devices and the development of the best possible protection for it. Secondly, he presented a calculation of the nuclear level density using the partition function.

"Professor M.N.Nasrabadi contacted JINR Directorate and expressed a desire to work at the Institute," Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics of FLNP V.N.Shvetsov explained for our weekly. "The CV he has sent contains more than a hundred scientific papers, the topics are very broad: mainly nuclear physics, but there is also solid-state physics, so our laboratory could be a possible place of work. And in order to get to know him better, we have decided to hold such a seminar. The first topic of the speech is electrostatic inertial plasma confinement for thermonuclear fusion. We are not involved in this, so it will be interesting to listen, although we are not specialists. And the second is ours, nuclear physics topics.
