The merits of JINR scientists
were recognized with high awards

During the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it became known that the scientific contribution of a number of leading scientists of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research including academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences was awarded high state awards of the Russian Federation.

The Order of Alexander Nevsky was awarded to the Scientific Leader of JINR Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Victor MATVEEV.

The Order of Friendship was awarded to JINR Vice-Director, Corresponding Member of the RAS Vladimir KEKELIDZE.

The Order of Honor was awarded to the chief researcher of FLNP, Corresponding Member of the RAS Victor AKSENOV.

The Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", I class, was awarded to Head of the Department of Neutron Research and Development in the Field of Condensed Matter of FLNP, Corresponding Member of the RAS Alexander BELUSHKIN.

The Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", II class, was awarded to the Special Representative of JINR Director for Cooperation with International and Russian Scientific Organizations Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris SHARKOV.

The Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", II class, was awarded to the Assistant Director of the Institute for the Development of Medical and Biological Projects, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory SHIRKOV.

The gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation was declared to the chief researcher of VBLHEP JINR Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Igor MESHKOV.

The Veksler Prize was awarded to the scientific team from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research consisting of JINR Director Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory TRUBNIKOV, Deputy Director of the Laboratory of High Energy Physics Andrey BUTENKO and Deputy Head of the VBLHEP Accelerator Department for Research Anatoly SIDORIN for the series of papers "Multifunctional complex of heavy ion accelerators - NICA collider injector". With this prime award, the Department of Physical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences recognizes outstanding papers in the field of accelerator physics every three years.

On the Day of Russian Science, a solemn ceremony was held at the Government House of the Moscow Region to award the winners of the Moscow Region Governor's Prize in the fields of science, technology and innovation.

In 2023, the winners were FLNP researcher Alexander NEZVANOV and VBLHEP junior researcher Vladislav SHALAEV.
