A delegation of the Embassy of Japan in Russia of Science Attaché Koji Kamitani and Assistant of the Division of Technology Management Yuko Tsuda visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research on 19 December 2012.

The JINR Publishing Department celebrates its 55th anniversary on 14 December 2012.  Representatives of the JINR Directorate, laboratories and subdivisions congratulated staff members of the JINR Publishing Department.

A delegation from JINR consisting of V.V. Voronov, I.A. Golutvin, D.V. Kamanin, V.I. Korobov, V.N. Shvetsov participated in ceremonial events dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy (INRNE) on 18-19 October 2012 in Sofia.

Issues of preparation for the JINR Finance Committee and the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of JINR Member States, milestones of the Open Symposium “The European Strategy for Particle Physics” in Krakow, participation of a JINR delegation in the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) in Brussels were discussed at a regular meeting of the JINR Directorate which was held on 11 October 2012.

The School for Young Scientists on the History of Science organized by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the Vavilov Institute of the History of Science and Techniques of RAS is being held on 8-12 October 2012 at the International Conference Hall in Dubna.

The 39th meeting of the European Neutron Scattering Association (ENSA) was held at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research on 8-9 October 2012.

The 6th International Symposium on Exotic Nuclei (EXON-2012) was held on 1-6 October 2012 in Vladivostok (Russia) at the modern campus of the Far Eastern Federal University, located on Russky Island.

The 11th Joint Coordination Committee on cooperation between the Republic of South Africa and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was held on 26-27 June 2012

Work of the JINR University Center with teachers of Russian schools is bearing fruit. Teachers, who had plunged into the world of modern science, would like to introduce their students into that world, and they increasingly address a request to the UC to bring the guys in Dubna, to acquaint them with JINR and it's a wonderful trend.

An establishing of the Award in Innovations in the CIS named after RAS Academician, Vice-Director and then Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Alexei Sissakian, who prematurely passed away two years ago, was announced at the International Forum "Innovations. CIS. Future ", which is being held on 4 and 5 April 2012 in Dubna and Moscow.

A regular meeting of the joint scientific seminar “Physics on the Large Hadron Collider” which is organized by the RDMS CMS collaboration of Russian institutes and JINR Member States that take part in the LHC experiment Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) will be held on 21 March 2012, at 15.00 pm at the conference hall of the JINR University center (LIT, room 437).

The 22nd regular meeting of the Coordinating Committee on the implementation of the Agreement on cooperation between the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and JINR was held at JINR on 23–24 February 2012.
