Announcement For support of scientific activitiesOn 6 September, at the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Award "For Loyalty to Science", the deadline for submitting applications was announced and the list of categories for 2024 was approved. The Award is one of the key events of the Decade of Science and Technology, declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin.Valery Falkov noted that interest in the Award grows from year to year. Compared to 2020, the number of applications in 2023 increased almost fourfold: from 312 to 1213. Experts reviewed projects from 78 regions of Russia. "We strive to make the Award more and more prestigious every year. And judging by the number of applications submitted annually, the number of regions participating in the competition, we copy with this task. The increase in interest in the Award "For Loyalty to Science" is a logical result of systematic work. We see the return - a large number of journalists and media have the opportunity to tell the whole world about the achievements of Russian science," the Minister said. Rector of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy noted that this year, more than 1500 media outlets reported on science and the nominees. "It serves a great cause. Therefore, this project should certainly be developed," he said. The 10th All-Russian Award "For Loyalty to Science" includes 9 categories that consist of three topical units: "Popularizers of science", "The prestige of science in society", "Science for the whole family". New categories are: "Author of digital content", "Recognition", "Special award named after Khristofor Ledentsov" and "Science for children". In each category, the expert council will select five best projects. The Organizing Committee will determine the winners and finalists. The Award Ceremony is scheduled for 28 October, 2024. The Award "For Loyalty to Science" has been presented since 2015 for outstanding achievements in the field of scientific communication and popularization of science. Journalists that cover the topic of Russian science, popularizers of science, scientists and business representatives that have made a significant contribution to supporting the prestige of professional scientific activity and popularizing scientific achievements in Russia can participate in the Award. The organizer of the Award is the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the partners of the event are the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute" and the Moscow State University.
